{HAPPY} Days….

I can hardly believe how long ago this trip seems already (early Aug.), with the changing leaves and the cool nights we have now, but we will NEVER forget it. We got together with some wonderful friends and went on a houseboat adventure. I have to admit that before we set out, I was a little skeptical about the whole thing. Let’s face it, 6 kids, 4 adults and no where to ‘go’ sounded like it could go wrong pretty easily. I worried that the kids would get restless and the space would start to feel pretty small after a couple of days. I could not have been more wrong. This ended up being the best family vacation we have ever been on. We had so much fun together, we relaxed, we played hard, we ate great food, we caught up as only old friends can, we watched our children laugh and play, and we saw this beautiful place we call ‘home’ from a different perspective. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the country, and seeing it from the water was so different and really reminded us just how lucky we are.

Thanks so much to Jill and Frank of Happy Days Houseboats, for taking such good care of us. Their boats are beautifully kept, and this boat was AMAZING. You really have to see it to believe it….in fact we had people asking for tours when we docked…..4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen with dishwasher and trash compactor, a fireplace, flat screen T.V. with Satellite television (which didn’t get any use, but it was there:) and radio, the upper deck with fridge, sink sound system…..truly unbelievable. It was easy to forget we were on a boat, except for the beautiful view of water out every window. Everyone at Happy Days are so friendly and Frank showed us the ‘ropes’ before we ‘set sail’, so we were experts by the time we left the dock (OK, I wasn’t, but Scott and Kevin were). I am so proud of my hubby for being such an expert driver on the trip. He had the folks at all of the locks so impressed at how well he handled the massive rig. Tine was in charge of the ropes at the locks, and did a great job. Thanks for all of your help honey.

Thanks Reid Family, for an excellent adventure. Hope we can do it again next year!!
